ABOUT THE BOOK

While on maternity leave from my job as a senior editor at MSN, I opened The Tiny Human Hotel. There is only one guest: my daughter, Amaya Grace.

Being a first-time mom is overwhelming. To help deal with my introduction to sleepless nights, thoughts of feeling inadequate at times and trying to keep another human alive, I returned to my passion: writing. This picture book is my therapy with a shot of humor.
The Tiny Human Hotel can serve as a manual for both new employees and guests, who are ages 0-5. It's a honest look at parenting that teaches adults patience. Children also get a lesson on manners and gratitude.
While looking for books to read to Amaya, I also found that there were very few with characters that looked like her on the shelves. Mama created one for her, and little Grace was born.

I know that there are countless Tiny Human Hotels opening across the world daily. Here's to all the owners, managers, employees and guests!
